Hail bruising on aging asphalt shingles
Why it happens here
Most Meadowbrook homes were built between the 1970s and 1990s, so the shingles are either original or on their second roof. Older shingles lose flexibility and bruise more easily, which means hail that would barely mark a new roof can total an older one.
Our approach
We inspect the shingle mat for bruising, not just the surface, and we check the underlayment for brittleness. If the roof is near the end of its life, we document that for your adjuster so the claim reflects replacement.
